The Satellite Data Portal gives you access to very high-resolution Earth observation data from the Netherlands. This data is centrally purchased by the national government. Are you a resident of the Netherlands? Then you can use the data free of charge, for example, to develop new applications or make your daily work more efficient.

The Satellite Data Portal is an initiative of the Netherlands Space Agency. It was established in 2012, before the first Sentinel satellites of the European Copernicus Earth observation programme were launched. The goal: to give Dutch companies, institutions, and government organizations a head start. With the data, they could prepare well for the arrival of Copernicus.

Once the Copernicus programme collected large amounts of data, the Satellite Data Portal switched to higher resolution data to supplement the Sentinel data. This made it the portaltaal voor hoogwaardige optische en radardata, ter ondersteuning van aardobservatietoepassingen in Nederland.

With the Satellite Data Portal, the Netherlands Space Agency aims to raise awareness of Earth observation data and make it easily accessible. This data can play a vital role in addressing the challenges we face as a society. We encourage citizens, businesses, and institutions to develop innovative applications through various programs, such as the Innovation Impact Challenge.
