The Netherlands Space Agency publishes advice on Dutch space policy every three years. This advice is created at the request of the government and is addressed to the Minister of Economic Affairs, who coordinates decisions on the Netherlands’ investment in space at the national level and through the European Space Agency (ESA).

The NLSA advice is published every three years due to the triennial ESA Ministerial Conference. At this conference, ministers from all ESA member states discuss the future of European space activities. The Netherlands is represented by the Minister of Economic Affairs, who uses the letter to the parliament based on the advice and the subsequent evaluation by the House of Representatives as the basis for the country’s contribution.

Strategic choices

Investing in ESA is investing in both Dutch and European knowledge, expertise, and innovation capacity. This is why it is important to make strategic choices. This is the focus of the triennial NLSA advice.
